Annie's (YE3b) Persuasive Speech (Value)

Comments:
After checking the list of assessed presenation, I suddenly found out that I posted my self-evaluation in the wrong place. On June 1st, I pose it on the yahoo group. I'm sorry for that, Aiden.

This is my self-evaluation.

From the contents of my persuasive speech of value, I think that I mostly met the requirements, such as introduction gained attention. I used my childhood experience with a conversational skill which was very different from my prior speeches to lead my audience look at the issue of death with a light way. Moreover, I think that I introduced my subject clearly, the main ideas were easy to be followed and my speech adapted to my audience. Otherwise, I did some improvements and efforts on this time’s speech. For example, I tried not to rely heavily on my draft and memorize it harder than before. Second one, I put more intentions and notes on pauses of saying and stress of words. You can see that when I said “Don’t (pause) talk (pause) it (pause) again.” Or “We can not (make a strong stress) always predict and know what will happen at the next moment.”
However, I think there are still a lot of places I have to work hard, especially at oral delivery. I’ll discuss in the following:
(1)Just like the comment what
Aiden gave to me after my
seech: I have too many physical
actions in my speech. Using
fingers is a good way to
emphasize my points and let the
audience have a clear
impression. However, if it was
repeated too often, then it
will become one of distractions
and places that be taken some
points in the speech. Now, I
have learned that, so I will
notice it carefully next time.
(2)Actually, I have some progress
in memorizing the draft at the
beginning, and I was not as
tense as last time. Although I
presented it well in the
instruction, when I went
through the part of body, I
relied one the note again. I
think that I have to work and
practice with more hours. Maybe
next time, I will present more
fluently and make a better job
at oral delivery.
(3)Finally, there are still some
words I can’t pronounce and
read them well. All of my
disadvantages have to depend on
more practices and hard work. I
will put more attentions and
work on them.
I am looking forward to
Aiden’s critique on my speech
and longing for making more
improvement!
